Dr. Nur Hartini Mohd Taib is a medical physicist and academic with expertise in fundamental physics principles of electromagnetism, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) physics, MRI image analysis and quantification, and advanced MRI techniques. She holds a PhD in Medical Physics and is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, particularly in MRI physics, radiation protection, and other topics in medical imaging physics such as ultrasound and mammography. Her research includes the optimization of diffusion tensor MRI techniques for investigating tissue microstructure, application of advanced MRI techniques for quantification of biological tissues, with a growing interest in the utilisation of MRI to study metabolic adaptations during intermittent fasting. She has contributed to research, professional education, and scientific presentations in medical physics and radiology, with interests spanning MRI protocol optimization, diffusion MRI, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, Dixon MRI, as well as radiation safety. Dr. Nur Hartini is committed to advancing medical physics through research, education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the translation of imaging science into improved clinical practice.
